Predictions and Power Rankings Week 9

Predictions and Power Rankings Week 9

Predictions

There hasn’t been any update as to how the picks were last week or if Willie is still in first. Lets hope not, but you never know.

Last week there were a bunch of upsets, and I can’t see anyone having done well. This week I’m turning it around. Here are my picks and like always they are in bold.

Division 1

Trollers vs Iron Wolves

Wolves are without Kris. This could be a good thing, but I think it will end up hurting them.

Division 2

Spritz Gang vs Master Chiefs

This is a rematch from last week. I expect a closer game, but still same winner.

Jagerbomb vs Nice TDs

They will pull it out this week and Kris will be able to say its because he wasn’t there.

Pocket Rockets vs Marvels

Marvels need this win for a chance at playoffs and they pull out all the stops and get it done.

Jagerbomb vs Thunder Buddies

Steve gets it done to stay on track to get the first seed in the division.

Division 3

Phoenix vs Douilles Molasses NA

I don’t pick my teams games.

Average Joes vs RawSauce

Jason only has 2 games left to get to 100 TDs on the season, so you know he is running up the score and using every timeout he has. This won’t be a close game.

Iron Wolves vs Red Cats

Avery will be back and looking to get this team geared up for playoffs.

Double Dippers vs Mustard Tigers

Not sure who will be playing QB for Double Dippers and that’s why I have to go with Mustard Tigers even if they aren’t the better team.

Division 4

Iron Wolves vs Bines Low Fat

They are the more complete team with more overall experience.

RawSauce vs Cyclones

Somehow they are the better team that I have more confidence in.

Airborne vs Super Friends

Airborne used all their magic last week. Oliver won’t take a stupid safety to lose the game.

Black Diamonds vs Bouchers

After last week’s performance, I can’t take Black Diamonds.

Sooners 45 vs Bouchers

They are too young and fast for Bouchers.

Division 5

Los Politos vs Jungle Squad

This will come down to who has the bigger game, Sam or Michel and I have seen Sam play a lot more games.

Improbables vs Kiss My Pass

They might not be as fast or as flashy, but they get the job done when needed.

Bear Hood vs My Ball Zach Ertz

They are just the better team with more experience.

Sour Peeps vs Tropic Thunder

They have too much top tier talent that Tropic Thunder wont be able to stop or avoid.

Weekend Warriors vs Improbables

They will be fresh and Improbables will be tired.

Titans vs Legendaries

This should be a good match up, but I give the slight edge to Titans based off experience.

Phoenix vs Big Booties NA

I don’t pick my teams games.

There you go this, week’s winners if my crystal ball is working once again.

Power Rankings

We are getting close to the end of the year and teams are still fighting for playoffs. Now let’s see after 9 weeks of playing who are in my top 3.

Division 1

1- Gros Coqs

2- Iron Wolves

3- Trollers

Division 2

1- Nice TDs

2- Idaho Udapimp

3- Jagerbomb

Division 3

1- Average Joes

2- Double Dippers

3- Pocket Rockets

Division 4

1- Sooners 45

2- Udaho Idapimp

3- Villains

Division 5

1- Sour Peeps

2- Bear Hood

3- Phoenix

This is how I see it after last week. Will I see it like this after next week? Who knows?

Final Thoughts

Just found out that the Jets are going to be on Hard Knocks and that makes at least 1 person in the league happy. Well at least until Rodgers and Sauce keep going with their handshake and both are brought in for drug testing.

I’m not worried about the league suspending Rodgers as they don’t have the balls to do that. Is it just me or does the NFL look stupid week in and week out with how the suspend certain players? How many this off season have been suspended for gambling. They’re going to do it one way or another, so just leave it. Imagine if Jordan played under these rules in the NBA, he never would have made it to being the GOAT.

I have heard rumbles out of New England that Belichick and Kraft aren’t getting along, and that Kraft wants to win and if that doesn’t happen that they might split. Kraft is stupid if he moves on. You have been winning for so long that you’re going to have a few down years. Deal with them, don’t get rid of the second greatest coach of all times because of your ego. Don’t do what Jerry did with Jimmy, the Cowboys have never recovered.

Cowboys fans relax. I know you won one after Jimmy left, but I was 14 at the time and I could have coached that team to a title with my eyes closed.

Before I let you go, remember we are playing a game, so go have fun and don’t kill anyone. Oh, and bring water.

Word from the Mouth: Water Thieves! edition

Word from the Mouth: Water Thieves! edition

Let me start by saying if you didn’t sweat your balls or boobs off, did you even show up to play this weekend? It was hot and humid and I hope you drank plenty of fluids so you didn’t cramp up or pass out.

I can tell you between Saturday in Montreal and Sunday in Brossard, I went through 20 Gatorades and 36 bottles of water. I didn’t drink all that myself, which means people aren’t coming to the field prepared for the day. I would get it if we were all kids and no one told you it was hot out and that you need to bring stuff to drink, but were all adults and should know better (ed’s note: I came prepared. Prepared to take Kevin’s water, that is). I wonder what would have happened if I didn’t bring plenty of drinks. How many people might have passed out?

I want to say that Mimosa Crew is lucky to have a guy like Curren on the team. Not only does he bring beer, but water and freezies as well. Now to recaps.

Division 1

Trollers vs Centurions (46-20)

This turned into an Andrew and Ashton show on offense with them combined for 12 catches 5 TDs and 217 yards plus a 1-point convert. We need find out what’s faster: Andrew’s mouth or his feet. This is ridiculous in a D1 game for 2 players to put up these numbers and a team does not figure something out. Centurions used to be a great defensive team, but it seems not anymore.

Division 2

Idaho Udapimp vs Jagerbomb (30-44)

Jerome and Marvin had nice games for Idaho, but it wasn’t enough to get the win for them as they came up short a few times on conversions. Simon didn’t play a perfect game since he threw 2 picks, but what he did well was keep the chains moving and marched the field. Louis went for 2 TDs on 5 catches with 82 yards, but the player that was the surprise was Loic getting 3 TDs on 4 catches and totaling 47 yards.

Spritz Gang vs Master Chiefs (13-54)

The game looks one sided and it was, but let me point out it was a must min for Master Chiefs and everything went their way, including the team that showed up to play them. Spritz Gang were missing half their team, were only 6 with a sub and Mario went QB. Owie had a field day throwing for over 300 yards and having 7 TDs. They even let Dilan throw a pass that ended with a 25 yards score for Ashton. Speaking of Ashton, this guy went off for 151 yards on 9 catches and scored 6 TDs along with 2 1-point converts, should have been 3, but he dropped an easy one and made 2 picks on defense.

Division 3

Mustard Tigers vs Iron Wolves (24-28)

I just caught a few plays of the game here and there. What I thought I saw was Ed Reed flying around picking balls offs. After getting out my binoculars and getting a closer look it was just Iggy who ended the first 3 drives from Mustard Tigers with picks. Iggy played well on offense end the day with 7 catches for 71 yards and 1 TD and 1 2-point convert. Victor is a stud for Mustard tigers getting 3 TDs and almost half of Brian’s passing yards, but after that they needed help. Tom tried, but he can’t do it all from the middle of the field.

Red Cats vs Douilles Molasses (6-25)

This Outcome had to be a surprise for everyone, but let me explain. Avery wasn’t there and Ben decided that he would play QB and have Nick Eagly sub at center instead of having Elijah sub at QB. Ben finished the day going 13 of 31 for 113 yards 1 TD and 3 picks. Their defense kept them in with 3 picks. Felix went 8 for 20, 173 yards, 4 TDs and more importantly got the much-needed W. Red Cats should have gotten a sub at QB and not thought twice about it.

Mustard Tigers vs Bines (25-8)

David did not have a good day this week. He threw 6 picks, 2 to both Victor and Jie and 1 to Tom who scored on his and Sean who got hurt on his. Bines couldn’t keep a drive going until the game was over. Brian wasn’t much better throwing 3 TDs to 2 picks. The big difference is that Mustard Tigers had short fields most of the day and this could have easily been more one sided than it was.

Division 4

Airborne vs Black Diamonds (39-13)

In a game Terry should have won in his sleep, he didn’t show up and looked like he was playing for the number 1 overall pick in next year’s draft. I won’t take anything away from Airborne, they played smart as a team. David Bergin did step up his defensive game getting 3 picks and running 1 back for 6.

Cyclones vs Iron Wolves (38-21)

All season Cyclones haven’t had a steady QB, but this week they got Yann out of retirement and in his first game back he looked good spreading the ball around. Nick had 2 TDs on 4 catches for 82 yards. Kayla back from Spain scored 3 times on her 5 catches and had 54 yards. On defense they picked Jason off 3 times and made them look easy early in the game. Jason started off very slow missing easy throws to wide open receivers, but once he got on track it was too late.

Airborne vs Villains (32-30)

Villains were up 16 with 15 minutes in the second half and had been moving the ball. I mean Will went 13 of 15 for 192 yards and 4 TDs with no picks. Their defense even had 2 picks and scored on 1 of them. This game should have been over at this point. Nope, Guillaume had a little magic left in his arm. They scored on back-to-back drives and were good on both 2-point converts to tie it at 30. Then Villains did the one thing you never want to do as a QB and that is give up a safety and the ball. Guillaume then ran the last 4 minutes off the clock to shock everyone on the MFL Media team.

Division 5

Improbables vs Legendaries (32-20)

Matt had one of the best performances of his life at QB this week going 20 of 25 with 5 TDs, 4 of them went to my shirtless brother Alex. How could I talk about this game without mentioning the man Goldrick who had 3 picks and ran 1 in for 6? Ben has a good team in front of him and I know playing QB is new to him, but you need to cut those picks down if you want to win games.

Mimosa Crew vs Los Politos (33-14)

In the first half it looked like Los Politos might pull off the upset as Curren was struggling to get things going. Second half rolled around, and he picked up his game and so did the rest of Mimosa Crew. Nikhil had 3 TDs and a 1 point convert for them and was most of the damage. On defense is where Jassinth (The Jazz man) and Dag (Dog) each had 3 picks and scored on 1 of them each. I call Dag Dog because that’s what he is and in this case he’s the Big Dog and Jassinth looked so smooth out there on defense that all I could think of was jazz.

That’s all I have for you this week hope you enjoyed. I know most of you need more, so go see Willie screw up and Terry having to correct him on the Podcast Wednesday night when it comes out. Also look to see Matt talking about what happened this week in Brossard and who he might have on as a guest.

Studs & Duds

This week I had a bunch of players show up and ball out and we also had a few players fall flat on their faces. Sometimes players ball out and don’t get the recognition that they might deserve and that’s because occasionally another player goes well above what we expect from them, and they need to be mentioned. Now to this week’s winners and losers.

Division 1

- Andrew “I’ll never shut up” Grant went off this week with 8 catches for 148 yards, 3TDs, 1 1point convert and then made 2 tackles and had pick on defense.

Division 2

- Jérôme Hovington in his 2 games this week made 18 catches for 259 yards 5 TDs, 2 2point converts and had 9 tackles and 2 picks on defense.

Division 3

- Ignacio Valdes-Manzanedo grab 7 passes for 71 yards, 1 TD and 1 2point convert. On defense is why he won this week with 3 picks and 4 tackles.

Division 4

- Guillaume Maynard for going 2-0 this weekend while keep his team’s playoff hopes alive. Guillaume was 46 of 69 for 307 yards 8 TDs, 2 1point converts, 2 2point converts, ran 4 time for 15 yards along with a 2point convert and threw 4 picks. He also made 7 tackles had 1 pick which he returned for a TD.

Division 5

- Matthieu Demers has come along was since week 1. This week he was 20 of 25 for 150 yards and 5 TDs with 2 1point converts. Matt ran 8 times for 25 yards and on defense was able to make 4 tackles.

Duds

Division 1

- Centurions defense for not being able to get a stop all game when it mattered. Getting one at the end of the game doesn’t really count.

Division 2

- Spritz Gang for not showing up with their roster to make what might have been a playoff battle game into a one-sided affair.

Division 3

- Benjamin Denis for making the decision to play QB instead of having Elijah play when he was there and willing to go.

Division 4

- Terry Babalis, I know you have a bum knee but c’mon 6 picks aren’t acceptable.

Division 5

- Quentin Leduc, 2 catches for 8 yards, 1 TD, 1 1point convert and 1 tackle. For a player Simon talks about how good you are I expect a better stat line then that. I get it this might have been your third or fourth game of the day and Simon might have taken it easy on you, but still.

There you have you Studs & Duds for week 9.

Predictions and Power Rankings Week 8

Predictions and Power Rankings Week 8

Predictions

Anyone who has been following knows that all of the media picks this season have been crap and we all are hovering right around 60% and that is very embarrassing. This week I plan on doing better by making my picks without even thinking about them. My picks are in bold, like always.

Division 1

Centurions vs Trollers

They have Ashton and Andrew leading the way on offense and with Dilan on defense they are the better team.

Division 2

Idaho Udapimp vs Jagerbomb

What is their biggest weakness with the roster they have this week? Kyle, but I’ll take that considering I don’t see him as a liability as a snapper or rushing on defense.

Marvels vs Nice TDs

They are just too good.

Idaho vs Thunder Buddies

Experience at QB.

Spritz Gang vs Master Chiefs

They must win to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

Mustard Tigers vs Iron Wolves

Iron Wolves just don’t have it all together this season.

Phoenix vs Average Joes NA

I don’t pick my games, but will tell you if Jason scores late with the game out of reach it will be his last TD of the year. Yes, Jason that is aggressive.

Douilles Molasses vs Red Cats

They get back to winning like they were to start the season.

Mustard Tigers vs Bines

The old men on Mustard Tigers will be tired and its hard for them to play back-to-back games.

Airborne vs Black Diamonds

Terry gets them into the win column for the first time this season.

Iron Wolves vs Cyclones

Cyclones are a mess and will have to rely on Alex at QB which makes their offense weaker.

Airborne vs Villains

They are by far the better team.

Bouchers vs RawSauce

They are the more consistent team.

Drama Club vs Udaho Idapimp

They have far too many weapons for Drama Club to stop .

Super Friends vs Cyclones

Cyclones have too many holes right now and Oliver should be able to find them with ease.

Bines Low Fat vs Sooners 45

Diego. That’s all I have to say.

Division 5

Improbables vs Legendaries

They don’t have as much top end talent, but they are more balanced as a team.

Sour Peeps vs Weekend Warriors

If they have their full squad, they will be very hard to beat as their defense is too strong.

Big Booties vs Bear Hood

This team is loaded with talent and Big Booties wont be able to stop them.

Mimosa Crew vs Los Politos

The have played well up to now and should continue in this game.

Kiss My Pass vs Phoenix NA

I don’t pick my teams games.

My Ball Zach Hertz vs Chili Hotdogs

Luca has gotten better each week at QB with his decision making and is picking his times to run and I just cant see Chili Hotdogs stopping it.

Those are my picks for this week hope you liked them and will help me get back in the lead.

Power Rankings

After a hectic week of games and teams not looking like themselves, I had to think long and hard about who I would place in my top 3 and where I would place them.

Division 1

1- Gros Coqs

2- Iron Wolves

3- Trollers

Division 2

1- Nice TDs

2- Idaho Udapimp

3- Thunder Buddies

Division 3

1- Average Joes

2- Double Dippers

3- Pocket Rockets

Division 4

1- Villains

2- Sooners 45

3- Udaho Idapimp

Division 5

1- Sour Peeps

2- Bear Hood

3- Phoenix

As you can see, I did make a few changes for this week and you know a few more are coming next week. With the season almost over teams are fighting to get into the playoffs and some teams are almost locked in, but that can lead to upsets and rankings getting moved around.

Final Thoughts

Yesterday was July 4 and to me that means 2 things: fireworks and Nathans Hotdog eating contest. I asked the question at work to a few guys about how many hotdogs they could eat in 10 minutes, and someone said at least 20. I was more realistic and said I could do 12 easily, but I wouldn’t be dunking them in water like they do in the contest. I want mine dressed with ketchup, mustard, relish, and onions. I want to enjoy them while I eat.

Now this brings me to my next question: is Joey Chestnut the greatest athlete of all time? He has the most titles (15) and the next closest to him is Bill Russell with 11. Joey ate 62 dogs this week and won by 14, now that’s impressive. For his career he has eaten a total of 1152, not bad for a guy who started in 2005. I know it might sound or look gross, but what’s better than seeing a guy stuff his face followed up by fireworks once it gets dark?

How many do you think you could eat?

Before I let you go, just know that we are playing a game, so go out, have fun, and enjoy yourself and remember don’t kill anyone. See you Saturday.

Word from the Mouth: Cereal for Breakfast! edition

Word from the Mouth: Cereal for Breakfast! edition

What is going on with this Fruity Pebbles weather. It looks like rain once again this week (ed’s note: it isn’t!) and this is complete Cap’n Crunch. I’ve been in the league since it was 6 teams and I can tell you we have never had 3 weeks of rain in a season, let alone 3 weeks in a row. They say it’s from Global warming, but shouldn’t it get be getting hotter? (ed’s note: that’s not how that works, and it is) I know that’s not what global warming is (ed’s note: ah) and that it can Cocoa Puffs with the weather in many ways. I know playing in the rain sucks, but I would prefer a little drizzle than play in the extreme heat. For most you’d rather it the other way, but you also aren’t out there all.

Captains need to make sure that anyone they want eligible for playoffs has 5 games played or gets an exception in writing from the league so that they can play. After working 9 games this week and walking 45000 steps or 45km this week I’m glad I have Monday off to relax and ice my busted leg and get ready for the long week at work I’m going to have. Now with nothing more to ramble about I’ll jump to this week’s recaps of games.

Division 1

Outlaws vs Trollers (20-35)

This game was fun to watch, but not fun to listen to. Svetna made everyone on the Trollers look like little children. On his first TD Vinny jumps the route and was in great position but Svetna high pointed the ball then strolled in for a TD, which was TD number 3. He did the same thing but between 2 defenders and for his second TD he just found the opening and sat in the hole. Steve and his receivers didn’t seem to be on the same page and more than once ran wrong routes. On the Trollers side of things, Andrew was his typical self and never shut up and that’s not the Andrew you want to be playing against. Andrew only scored 1 TD on his 8 catches, but gained 106 yards and was always making something happen when Trollers needed it. This was a very good game for Trollers, and I hope not a thing that happens regularly for the Outlaws. I know Smuda is a big part of their team, but with your roster you should be able to keep rolling, but it hasn’t seemed like it.

Gros Coqs vs Centurions (31-25)

I was at this game and after looking over the stats can’t believe that Gabriel went 40 of 55 on the day, but that’s not the surprising part of it. Centurions had 3 receivers with 10 plus catches in the game, Louis 10 catches for 95 yards with 2 TDs, Yvan 10 catches for 68 yards with 2 TDs, and Vincent with 15 catches for 64 yards. That must be a first in the league. Francis had the hardest job on the day rushing Dom, but was able to get 2 sacks and put pressure all day long. With all those short passes from Gabriel the short defenders for Gros Coqs had a day making every tackle and not giving up any YAC. Etienne made 9 tackles, Alexis made 7, Bresse and Vince both made 5. Bresse was the most dependable receiver for Gros Coqs but Alexis had the big 45 yard TD to break the tie at 25 and give them the lead and what turned out to be the game winner. This was a good game to watch with it being tight all game with neither team every looking like the game was theirs until the final whistle.

Division 2

Thunder Buddies vs Master Chiefs (41-38)

How does this keep happening to Master Chiefs who sit at 1-5 and have a -1 point differential? With them adding Dilan this week to the roster I thought it would sure up the defense and get them a few extra possessions, that wasn’t the case this week with no sacks or picks all game. Owie had a good game but relied heavily on Ryan who had 7 catches for 98 yards along with 1 TD, Ashton had 8 catches for 96 yards and a whooping 5 TDs. Last week I pointed out that Steve has that magic in his arm because when you looked at these 2 rosters Thunder Buddies shouldn’t have had a chance in this one. They had Simon dropping deep once to cover Ashton 1 on 1 and you won’t believe this, but Simon locked it down and knocked the ball away. Josh had an above average game for him this week scoring twice on 10 catches, but the big difference in this game for Thunder Buddies was Simon turning those 1- or 2-yard catches into 6 and 7 yards almost every time. With just under 7 minutes Owie led a TD drive take a 38-35 lead. Then Steve ate the clock down to 1:14 left before hooking up with Jaf to take the lead and win the game as Master Chiefs were only able to move the ball just past half before the game was over.

Division 3

Red Cats vs Average Joes (19-30)

I won’t sugar coat it at all, so here is the truth about this game. Oliver won the game for Average Joes. I know he only had 2 sacks, but Avery threw 3 picks and it was because of the pressure. Out of Averys 35 throws he might have had good footing on 5 of them, the rest were back foot or jump throws and yet he still managed to get the ball 25 to 30 yards down field in the air. Flood was the guy Jason counted on most of the game getting 6 catches, 100 yards and 3 TDs. Jason couldn’t put up 45 like he has all season, but he did score with under 1 minute left to make it a 2-score game. This game was close and if Avery hadn’t thrown 3 picks might have turn out differently.

Double Dippers vs Bines (36-12)

Double Dippers were missing Simon at QB, so they had David fill in. I will tell you that David looked good going 22 of 35 with 6 TDs. Manu went off for 3 TDs on his 10 catches, then you had Alex who people say might be the best receiver in the division getting 5 for 35 but he also dropped at least 3 and that is probably low. Bines struggled all over, their defense was soft and couldn’t slow Manu down and then on offense their best player was Simon who is playing with a busted finger and can’t close his hand properly. Double Dippers have a very good team, but David should have been able to do more against them, going 15 of 33 just won’t cut it.

Division 4

Sooners 45 vs Udaho Idapimp (52-26)

Sooners doubled up on Udaho with Diego looking like Cam Newton in 2015 tearing it up with his arm and Legs. Udaho needs to figure out how to stop this guy because they will meet again in a few weeks once playoffs start.

RawSauce vs Iron Wolves (12-45)

RawSauce is a mess with no QB, and Iron Wolves are coming along as the father to son connection is working, but when it’s not Jason still has Josh to depend on.

Airborne vs Drama Club (25-19)

Both teams were missing players and that didn’t seem to effect Airborne as Guillaume was able to get it done with what he had. Simon was without a few key players and you could tell as he struggled to keep drives going and mustard up points.

Bouchers vs Bines Low Fat (27-23)

If you told me Bouchers were going to win without Lukas at QB I would have laughed in your face before the game. Simon went QB and played a very smart game going short and spreading the ball. JF throwing 2 picks and giving up a safety will cost you in a close game.

Black Diamonds vs Super Friends (14-43)

Terry was 33 of 60 with 14 of his completions going to Rob who couldn’t even score once. How did Terry throw 60 passes in a game and lose by 29 points? Earlier in the week Terry asked me about Super Friends and I told him watch out for Alex at WR and their center Alex. Those 2 players caught 12 of 15 completions from Oliver for 208 yards and 7 TDs. It seems I do know what I’m talking about sometimes.

Division 5

Legendaries vs Jungle Squad (25-12)

I was shocked at how close this game was for the most part. With the roster that Legendaries has I figured it would have been a blowout. Ben at QB just looks weird to me at least the first time seeing him back there. On the first drive he ran a few times and had a few passes and that what I was expecting to see all game, but it was after the initial drive he settled in and just spread the ball around. Ben Mallet was his main target getting 3 catches for 48 yards and a TD. Mallet did his damage on defense getting 3 picks and running one back in. Seeing Nick rush at half speed and still getting 3 sacks is impressive, but what’s more impressive is that Nick also had a pick 1 and a pick 6 in the game. We all knew Jungle Squad was going to struggle this season, but they have come a long way since April when my team scrimmaged against them. Jerome put up good numbers on a solid defense and with a little more experience will be able to cut those picks down which will lead to closer games and maybe a few more wins. Michel is their best player, and he does whatever is asked of him as he plays WR, runs the ball as a RB or even goes QB from time to time. Then on defense he is their leader and is always around the ball. I know they are coming back in the fall, and I expect them to be in a lot more games now that they have gained some experience.

That’s all I have for you on recaps, but if you’re needing more look for Terry and whoever he has with him this week on the podcast on Wednesday night. If you’re from Brossard go give Matt a watch, he is funny and its always entertaining to see who he might have on as a guest. One of these weeks maybe he’ll have me on, and I might surprise a few people with my francais (ed’s note: oh god).

Studs & Duds

I’m running late with this week’s article and Jon is probably pissed I have used so many words, so without wasting much more of your time let’s see who shined and who blew chunks in week 8.

Studs

Division 1

Kris Hope, we all might hate him because he whines and cries over everything (ed’s note: I don’t hate you, Kris!), but he sure can play football, especially for an old broken guy. This week all Kris did was catch 11 passes for 78 yards and 4 TDs and he also decided to play some defense getting 2 tackles and 1 pick.

Division 2

Philippe Charpentier is a player last season who was in D5 and has made the jump up and is still balling out at a high level. Phil scored 2 TDs on 4 catches and had 44 yards he also had 1 2-point convert. On defense all he did was make 1 tackle and had 3 picks.

Division 3

Ryne Flood, other than being the best-looking player on Joes, he makes plays when the team needs him to. This week he went off for 100 yards on 6 catches and scored 3 TDs. On top of that he had 3 tackles and 1 pick on defense.

Division 4

Alex Noivo, what do you say about a guy like this? He plays center and Oliver likes the way the ball gets to him. It’s not every week you see a center getting over 100 yards in a game and this week Alex got 129 on 9 catches and scored 5 TDs. Since he felt he still needed to contribute to the team he then went and made 7 tackles and had 1 pick while taking it easy on defense.

Division 5

Dag Wiesbrok, thought his name was Dog Westbrook from taking a quick glance at the stat sheet, but he really is a dog. Dag was the leading receiver for his team with 6 catches for 65 yards, 1 TD and 1 1point convert. Where Dag made the bigger impact was on defense when he made 5 tackles and had 2 picks.

Duds

Division 1

Outlaws as a team for going 0-2 on the weekend.

Division 2

Master Chiefs defense for 0 sacks, 0 picks and losing another 1 score game.

Division 3

Ryan McSweeny with 2 catches for 12 yards. When you’re averaging 11.63 yards a catch, step it up or go have a seat on the bench and let someone else show you how it’s done.

Division 4

Rob White for that poor defensive play calling allowing 2 players to destroy your team the way they did.

Division 5

Étienne Simard, you threw 5 picks and lost the game by 13 points. You can’t be doing that down the stretch while fighting for a playoff spot.

There are your ballers and bums for the week. Remember if you want to make my list you only have a few weeks left, so you need to pick up your game or take a few steps back, but one way or another you need to do something.

Predictions and Power Rankings Week 7

Predictions and Power Rankings Week 7

Predictions

I don’t know what I did to win last week, but I’m embarrassed to tell you I won by getting 50% of my picks right. That should never be the case. Every one of us making picks just can’t seem to figure it out. Maybe this week someone will win by getting 75% of their picks right. It’s going to be me since I need to turn it around. Here are my picks this week and like always they are in bold.

Division 1

Trollers vs Outlaws

Outlaws are missing players this week and I’m not sure who will be rushing for them and because of that Max will pick them apart.

Centurions vs Gros Coqs

They have the better QB and the more complete roster.

Outlaws vs Iron Wolves

Too many pieces missing for Outlaws and not sure who will be subbing for them since they are only 6 players.

Division 2

Spritz Gang vs Nice TDs

They have too much speed.

Spritz Gang vs Pocket Rockets

PO has been struggling in D2 and Mario knows what he is doing when calling a defense, I expect to see 3 picks in this game.

Thunder Buddies vs Master Chiefs

They are overdue for a win and adding Dilan should improve their defense dramatically.

Division 3

Bines vs Douilles Molasses

Douilles Molasses are missing half their roster so I can’t see this being a close game.

Iron Wolves vs Pocket Rockets

They are just too strong in this matchup.

Red Cats vs Average Joes

Avery says they are going to win this one, but his play over the last 2 weeks hasn’t shown that, plus Jason is playing great up to now.

Double Dippers vs Bines

Double Dippers are without a QB this week, so I expect to see a committee of them trying it out or at least Alex and Manu.

Division 4

Sooners 45 vs Udaho Idapimp

I think that Diego gets the team back on track after missing last week.

RawSauce vs Iron Wolves

I can’t pick a team to win when I have no clue who their QB is.

Drama Club vs Airborne

After last weeks miracle win over Sooners 45, Airborne comes back to reality and loses this one by 2 scores.

Bines Low Fat vs Bouchers

They are more athletic.

Super Friends vs Black Diamonds

Terry will have an issue this week with Super Friends defense their rusher is quick and Alex knows where to place his players to take away that short crap.

Division 5

Phoenix vs Los Politos NA

I don’t pick my teams games.

Legendaries vs Jungle Squad

Just based on experience they should win, but it will be close.

My Ball Zack Hertz vs Tropic Thunder

Tropic Thunder can’t stop the run and Luca can run.

Titans vs Big Booties

Ben if he is there will be the difference maker and is the best player among these two teams.

Chili Hotdogs vs Mimosa Crew

All Curren has to do is protect the ball since his team has more playmakers on it.

There you go, my picks for week 8.

Power Rankings

Final Thoughts

More BS (ed’s note: Banana Sprinkles) weather this weekend and that means whoever is playing at 5pm good luck trying to stay on your feet.

I’m not playing so I don’t have to worry. I’ll be heading home and getting my baby to bring back with me. Its my dog. I’m too old to be having kids at my age. Before Willie starts telling everyone he is named after the Leafs. He is not, he is named after the Ice cream Maple Walnut. I have more respect for myself, and I wouldn’t do that to him since he is a winner unlike that hockey team in Toronto.

We have another long weekend and that is great. This is the time of the year where we would have a league get together and play a few games by forming a few different teams like Canada, Quebec, and a world team. It didn’t really worked out last time we tried as it was well over 40 degrees and no one wanted to move. I think Goldrick won the 40-yard dash, but he was racing by himself. We would also be inducting new players into the HOF, but that has been moved to be include with the end of season awards.

That’s all I have so I hope you enjoyed see you Saturday and remember were playing a game for fun, so don’t take it too seriously.
